Life According To... Krishnaa Panchal

Hi! They call me Krishnaa Parth - a name inspired by ancient stories older than time. Where warriors spoke in poetry, and queens walked through fire. In short, I’m a nineteen-year-old who lives between dusty old epics and modern lecture halls. I study literature and mythology, but my true passion is one epic with roots from Indian tradition: the Mahabharat (it’s ok if you can’t pronounce that). To me, it’s not just a story – it's a vast, philosophical universe full of gods, imperfect heroes, fiery queens, and the most impossible choices to ever exist. And with a combination of all of that, obviously dear readers, what follows is an epic war. Not just on a battlefield, but in each character’s mind too. My friends joke that I’m obsessed with Arjun Parth, a charming warrior-prince with a bow in his hand (best-archer vibes) and a thousand questions in his heart. And okay fine, they’re right. In this very blog, thou shalt behold, my mytho-mad musings, weird debates, and everything literature that keeps me awake at 3am. Oh, and if you’re wondering about the name Krishnaa Parth, let’s just say I took my Arjun-obsession very seriously.

I grew up in a home supported by my father’s silent strength and eternal love. He’s the one who first told me tales of Arjun, not like some distant legend, but like a person you could learn from, question, perhaps even imagine knowing. Hmmm....I guess that’s where the obsession began. I’m the youngest by a few seconds, unfortunately tied with my twin brother Drisht, whose insanity can sometimes be lovable (and a shoulder to cry on). Then there’s my older sister Sara. Fierce, protective and unapologetic about who she is. We may not be royalty or hold weapons, but in our own strange way, my sweet little family hides bits and pieces of an ancient epic in the quiet corners of everyday life.

Somewhere along the way, my admiration for Arjun (the somewhat nerdy, yet super charming, focused warrior prince of the Mahabharat) sky-rocketed into full-blown fan-girling! I daydream about him turning up in modern-day college corridors, bow slung over his shoulder, casually quoting philosophical and poetic verses between classes. In my overactive imagination, he’s not just loitering about the college aimlessly, but instead, he’s saving me a seat in class, casually dropping quotes while sipping overpriced chai, and definitely giving the side-eye to anyone who chooses to mess around. My seniors picked up the scent of my......little obsession (ok, full-on delusion) and lovingly nicknamed me “the Arjun-fanatic kid”. I laughed it off, but there’s something strangely comforting about having a fictional friend who’s always in the middle of an existential crisis.

So, what do all my friends get from me? Well, I unbox moments from mythologies that intrigue me, and draw connections to literature, life, and occasionally, my own confused brain.

And if you’re wondering how some bookworm like me ended up with a (tad-bit mad) scientist, a blade of grass, a graphic designer, and ironically, an author, then go check out our podcast! You’ll know how it all started. I guess, I’m mad in my own way too like Georgina. I love nature, so maybe that’s why Trawa and I click? Like me, Ellie expresses herself more through the pen, than our tongues. And what odds that a bookworm like me would end up friends with an author like Jurdan.

So, till the next blog, bye!!!

Where ancient epics meet modern musings.
